Bloomsbury Picture Books are going back to basics this month!
The idea of this scheme is to match each child with the perfect book for them. They’re inspired by seasonal events and situations that little ones can relate to.
This month, November, is Getting Dressed, and the books they’ve included on the list for this month are:
I’ve uploaded the activity sheets as PDF files, so you can print them off, or do them on your computer (picture editting programmes are useful for that!)
Please click on the titles of the books above to get the files.
And if you want to buy this month’s titles:
One Shoe Two Shoes – Caryl Hart, illustrated by Edward Underwood
One shoe, two shoes, red shoes, blue shoes
Shoes, shoes and more shoes … this book is bursting with them. From party shoes and flip-flops to cowboy boots and clogs, there’s a pair here to suit everyone. There’s even a shoe house for a little mouse!
We Wear Pants – Katie Abey
What will you wear today?
Pandas wearing pants? Surely not! And what about wombats wearing wellies, sloths in socks, or even giraffes wearing scarves? Whatever you do today … don’t forget to get dressed!
Dress Up with Ted – Sophy Henn
Hey there, Ted! Are you playing dressing up?
Who will Ted be? A brave knight with a pet dragon? A jolly pirate captain? Or maybe an awesome astronaut? Lift the flaps to find out where Ted’s creative imagination will take him. With sturdy flaps to lift on every page, this fun new book in the Ted series will delight preschoolers and is ideal for little hands.
It would be lovely to see what you’ve done using the themes – either dressing up or going out somewhere related to the themes, or even just doing the activities!
